Find out all about employing in the Ireland
What do I need to work in Ireland?
Although the EU Blue Card applies in 25 of the 27 EU countries, it does not apply in Ireland.
The Irish government has not committed to issuing a specific number of short-term visas. The applicant must demonstrate that they have substantial family, social, or economic ties to a residence outside of Ireland. The immigration officer ultimately decides whether to grant the visa.

How do I apply for a Work Permit or Visa to work in Ireland?
There is no legal entitlement to a visa, and there is no specific set of requirements that must be met in order for an application to be approved.
An employee who wants to move from a corporate organisation in another country to one with Irish origins must get a work permit (and may also require a visa).
An Intra-Company Transfer Employment Permit, which is intended to make it easier to transfer senior management, key employees, or trainees who are not EEA nationals from an overseas branch of a multinational firm to its Irish branch, is the appropriate employment permit. The employee can submit an application for a long-term employment visa after receiving this job permit.
Alternately, workers may apply for a critical skills employment visa if the position meets certain requirements (i.e., jobs that are crucial to expanding Ireland’s economy, are highly sought-after and highly trained, and are in severe short supply on the Irish labour market). To be eligible for this kind of permit, the employee must also get a minimum amount of pay.
