Anybody considering visiting or relocating to the Netherlands should familiarise themselves with the cultural norms.
The culture of the Netherlands is progressive and open. The locals pride themselves on their humility, tolerance, independence, self-sufficiency, and enterprising spirit. They place a premium on learning, effort, ambition, and skill.
Here is a flavour of the rules and standards of conduct that newcomers to the Netherlands should be aware of:
Speak in clear, simple English. Although most Dutch individuals speak great English, English idioms don't translate well and may be confusing.
Be direct. The Dutch tend to get straight down to business and are not afraid to give straight answers.
The Dutch value timeliness in business meetings highly and will expect you to do the same; if you are running late, please give advance notice.
Schedule meetings for eating times. In Dutch business, business lunches are not very common, and dinner is typically reserved for private social gatherings.

Payrolling the employees is a key part of the service offered by an employer of record company. The EOR will calculate and remit all taxes, social securities and similar payments, on behalf of both employer and employee. The client will be invoiced in advance by the EOR company, for the total cost of the payroll.
Yes. Our clients are free to dictate the structure of the employees’ remuneration including any bonuses or commissions they wish to offer. In some countries, there is a statutory requirement to provide “bonuses”, for example in the form of Christmas or holiday allowances.
