Pensions

Pensions in Norway fall into 3 categories, State pensions, occupational pensions and individual pensions:

State Pensions – The state pension is made up of 3 components, the base rate, special supplement and dependents supplement. The state pension is designed to cover basic living costs and prevent poverty in old age.

Occupational Pensions – Most private sector employers are now required to offer and contribute to an occupational pension scheme. At a minimum, the employer must contribute 2% of an employee’s salary towards their pension and cover the fees and costs of administering the scheme. The scheme must be the same for all employees, but it is not required to offer a pension scheme to employees earning over 12 times the National Insurance basic amount (G).

Personal Pensions – Individuals can also contribute under their own provider agreement (such as an insurance company). Invested funds are used to buy a pension after retirement.

Norway Healthcare Benefits

Norway’s National Insurance Scheme (NIS) provides universal health and social care to Norwegian residents under the Patient Rights Act and National Insurance Act.

For some groups, such as the under 16s and retirees, healthcare is provided free of charge. However, most working age residents of Norway are charged out of pocket fees towards the cost of their care, (NOK 3,040 in 2023)which is capped at a certain amount per year. After this limit is reached, the resident will receive an exemption card for the remainder of the year, covering the majority of potential outpatient treatments, tests and medicines.

Hospital inpatient care is free for all Norwegian residents, as is emergency care.

Private healthcare coverage is available in Norway, but is not widely used.

Yes. Agility EOR will calculate what pay is due upon termination of an employee, factoring in such things as any untaken leave entitlements.

We find that most of our clients are in the Tech, IT, Finance and Professional Services industries. However, we have acquired the skills, knowledge and experience to help all industries across the globe.

As a private company, we’re not beholden to shareholders or asset-shredding Private Equity targets. We aim to build long-term relationships with our clients. At Agility EOR, our approach is that we never forget that our business is all about people. Our Employer of Record solutions are tailored to each requirement, not a one-size-fits-all tech platform. We do the right thing by our clients and by the laws of each country we operate in. And we believe in openness; if we don’t feel we can offer you the best solution for a specific territory, we’ll say so.

We pride ourselves on our personable-approach so once you enter your new employees details into our dedicated platform, we’ll arrange a call with you to go through the details of the employment contract where together we can review and amend to your requirements. We liaise directly with your employee to build a rapport and obtain the necessary information to hire them compliantly, and set them up ready for their first payroll.

We never stop delivering! Even if you’re employee has been onboarded and is happily working for you and being paid each month, we’re here to partner with you whenever you or your employees need us. Even your ex-employees may need our assistance for tax documents, proof of employment requests etc… Our service never stops!
