Find out all about employing in Switzerland

The Swiss pension system consists of three pillars.

First Pillar – The basic state pension (OASI, AHV or AVS). Too be eligible for the full state pension, 44 years of continuous payments, from the age of 20 – 64 must be made, with an average income of CHF 84,000 or more. Anyone who contributes to the AVS for one year or more can access the state pension, and Swiss residents who aren’t eligible for a full state pension may be able to access supplementary benefits.

Second Pillar – Mandatory occupational pension schemes. Contributions are made by both the employers and employees, and employer contributions must match those made by the employee. When changing jobs, the pension fund is moved to the new employer.

Third pillar – Voluntary private pension schemes. These are common in Switzerland, and contributions to private pension schemes can be used to reduce tax obligations.

Switzerland Healthcare Benefits

Everyone living in Switzerland is required to have health insurance, which pays for medical care and hospitalisation. Since employers are not always liable for securing insurance, it is up to residents to make contact with providers on their own. However, even if your international health insurance policy expressly indicates that it will pay for medical care in Switzerland, the Swiss insurance authorities will likely not recognise it.

Supplemental private insurance policies may be made available by employers in order to pay the cost of certain treatments not covered by normal insurance or to upgrade hospital accommodations should the need arise.

The cost of a mandatory healthcare package varies, but an average adult can expect to pay somewhere in the region of 400 CHF per month for their premium.

Yes. Agility EOR will calculate what pay is due upon termination of an employee, factoring in such things as any untaken leave entitlements.

We find that most of our clients are in the Tech, IT, Finance and Professional Services industries. However, we have acquired the skills, knowledge and experience to help all industries across the globe.

As a private company, we’re not beholden to shareholders or asset-shredding Private Equity targets. We aim to build long-term relationships with our clients. At Agility EOR, our approach is that we never forget that our business is all about people. Our Employer of Record solutions are tailored to each requirement, not a one-size-fits-all tech platform. We do the right thing by our clients and by the laws of each country we operate in. And we believe in openness; if we don’t feel we can offer you the best solution for a specific territory, we’ll say so.

We pride ourselves on our personable-approach so once you enter your new employees details into our dedicated platform, we’ll arrange a call with you to go through the details of the employment contract where together we can review and amend to your requirements. We liaise directly with your employee to build a rapport and obtain the necessary information to hire them compliantly, and set them up ready for their first payroll.

We never stop delivering! Even if you’re employee has been onboarded and is happily working for you and being paid each month, we’re here to partner with you whenever you or your employees need us. Even your ex-employees may need our assistance for tax documents, proof of employment requests etc… Our service never stops!
