Pensions in UAE

The Golden Pension Scheme is a retirement savings program specifically designed for UAE nationals. The Golden Pension Scheme offers a range of investment options and flexible contribution amounts, making it easy for UAE nationals to save for their retirement. The plan also provides tax benefits and a guaranteed rate of return, making it an attractive option for those looking to secure their financial future. The scheme is administered by the Emirates Pension Scheme Authority and is available to eligible UAE nationals through participating financial institutions.

Contributions are made by the individual and there is no requirement for the employer to make contributions on their behalf. However, some employers in UAE may choose to offer additional retirement benefits to their employees.

There are pension schemes available for non-UAE nationals in the country. Many private sector companies offer pension plans to their employees, and there are also private pension providers that offer individual pension plans.

UAE Healthcare Benefits

Foreign nationals working in Dubai and Abu Dhabi must be provided with health insurance by their employers. Their spouses and dependents must also be provided with health insurance.  

Those working in the state of Ras Al Khaimah do not require any health insurance, but the majority of foreign workers’ employers offer private health insurance. 

In all other areas of the UAE, the foreign employee must be provided with health insurance, but the spouse and dependents of the employee are optional. In practice, most employers opt to also cover their worker’s family.

The EOR will calculate and remit all taxes, social securities and similar payments, on behalf of both employer and employee.
